Outside of my academic coursework, I am always looking for ways to expand my experience with the Japanese language. This page highlights my involvement in activities outside of the classroom, to the community.
JAPAN AMERICA SOCIETY OF COLORADO (JASC)
I have been a member of this chapter since 2025. A valuable resource for fostering awareness, education, and understanding of the Japanese culture in the Denver region. JASC
extends people-to-people relationships between Colorado and Japan by serving as a bridge to connect businesses and communities through a variety of programs, workshops, lectures, classes, and cultural events.
ITALKI
Beginning in 2023, I studied Japanese conversation 1-on-1 with a Japanese tutor hired through italki. Through virtual meetings, I was able to practice my Japanese language skills in real-life discussions while learning more about Japan culture.
JAPAN AMERICA SOCIETY OF SOUTH CAROLINA (JASSC)
In April 2026, I was honored to receive the Japan-America Association of South Carolina (JAASC) Award for outstanding proficiency in Japanese language studies. The award highlights the recipient's understanding of Japanese language and cultural studies. A recognition that reflects my commitment to cross-cultural excellence.
